Tonight was the first time i saw/rode a fully pimp’d tricycle.(wasn’t able to steal a pic though) it had all the works — patok speakers (jay-z in da hauz), a black light, a coupla dozen switches/buttons (which i highly suspect is just for decor), black "leather" seats and of course, a japorms driver - at 8pm, naka-shades si mr. driver!

At 8 pm tonight, Tanya’s plane would be taking off — taking her to Frankfurt! She’s off for a two-month training at Deutsche (spellcheck, please) Bank’s HQ.. Lucky girl! She’s finally getting the big break she deserves (plus she’d get to experience genuine Octoberfest)! Sprekenengheigh!

In two weeks, i’ve attended three "reunions"

first up– J&J champy berks!

Our despedida for Tanya dearie turned out to be a reunion na rin! ansaya! never pa kaming nakumpleto ulit ng ganito since my own j&j despedida *ahem.. pa-star*

We ate our hearts out at Big Buddha while being "shhhh"-ed by all the other diners.. pano ba naman, round up 15 peeps who all want to be the center of attention and what do you get? yakyakan galore!

Capped the night with margaritas, beer and never ending photo-ops at Masas.. heehee, picture krayzie talaga kami! ("o, kunwari galit..kunwari nagsasabunutan..o gayahin nyo naman yung mata ni E") Ahahahaha. Kwela night!

finally! after a looooong while, we found a  day na everyone’s available.. of all my berks eto ang pinakamahirap hagilapin! "busy" daw sa mga careers (uh, yeah. whatevs).. Whenever i’m with these guys, para kaming nasa TV — may comedy (Danica’s man-eating moments) drama (Em’s "ang hirap pala maka get-over" moments), commercials (by moi) and of course, mawawala ba naman ang porn? (Jacq-crobatics) Ahahaha!

last but not the least — SJC grade school batch ‘95 reunion

After 10 long years, nagkitakits kami! Everybody looked totally fabulous - a far cry from the maroon/khaki/tetoron-clad totoys and nenes singing "Love is the Answer" on Graduation Day ‘95.. Hahaha!

’twas a super fun night — reminiscing galore ("diba ikaw yung maliit noon?"), chikahan to the max, chismisan (about people who weren’t there -haha!),  bukuhan moments ("Ahh, yun? crush ko noon ehh"), bonding / re-bonding with old friends –

Special mention: i’m so happy i got reunited with Iya - my bestfriend from 4th grade.. we were Liz and Jess (oh, yezz from Sweet Valley Twins).. our moms became friends (from perpetually waiting at the parent’s waiting shed).. we kept on making "reto" our siblings (Mark and Ina sitting on a tree..) hayy, so many mems with this girl.. nadagdagan pa that night (inuman session with adele, prince and joyce — ahahaha!).

Get this: last week, she got all haughty and stuck up just because i fit into a pair of cute pants (which she wanted sooo badly) and she didn’t!  What got me irked was her comment: "Ows? Kasya sayo yan? E sakin nga hindi eh.. Ano ba yan? double double XL?" Excuuuuuuuuse me. Yesterday, i got invited to a corporate luncheon meeting at the Edsa Shangri-La by our external counsel (ahem.. *feeling important*) Went there with my bossings and two other IP Paralegals.. Ansaya! I met a lot of young lawyers — everyone was super kulet and nice! the food was yummy and it was my first time to taste.. tantananan.. baby octopus!  (eng-eng me thought it was squid.. realized it nalang after my third bite.. pero super sarap, i swear!)

–> got a text message this morning from Pammy, aww.. she made me miss college life!

–> attended my cousin Darrel’s 7th bday party last Sunday and for some weird reason, naawa ako sa clown (surprising, coz clowns usually freak me out). seems like beneath his fake smiling make-up, he’s really, really sad. aww.

–> saw Hallmark’s film adaptation of "the five people you meet in heaven" . grabe, i cried and cried and cried during the entire movie! *drama queen*

–> finally found a new diet that works for me: save up on calories during the week, then splurge on weekends. ang saya saya!

CHAMPY reunion

–> Went out last friday with my J&J champy berks. its been a while (a looooong while) since i went out with ‘em, kaya miss na nila ko! hehe.. buti nalang Jill made drama na namimiss na nya ang berkada and of course, Ana the gimik planner sprang to action.. Me, Charol, Ana & Vlad, Tanya & Jojo, Jill & Dino, Mickey (vlad’s cutey kalbo friend), Jera (ana’s lookalike) and her guy, Bianco were all present.. sayang di complete ang mga champoy..Their reasons? TRINA–family thingie, DYAN–gimik with college friends, JILLY–mountain climbing, CHERRY–pabibo overtime, ALFIE–nalublob sa balde ang celfone (huh?!), WARREN–nag-yes, but he’s a no-show..The rest, i dunno, baka di lang na-invite. hehe. but still, it was a super duper fun night.. got the best seat at Sidebar, super laughtrip/bondingan/picturan to the max and boozefest ’till dawn..

Haaay, super saya.. wala na talagang tatalo sa J&J– the happiest place there is..

——————

–> After almost two years of working in L.A. (and earning her first million bucks), she’s finally home sweet home!!! Kang arrived at 6am, and of course, we were at her doorstep the very same day.. she greeted us in all her jetlagged glory with her famous "p*****!!!" Of course, tagalized pa rin sya, but she has this "I know!!" thing going.. uuuyyyy.. slang na ang lolah! but her quirky personality hasn’t changed the slightest bit — jologsosyal pa din like the rest of us.. =p

syempre. since Kang’s here, foodfest galore kami. goodbye my so-called diet, hello eat-all-you-cans, inuman, dessert, dinner and even breakfast — name it, we’ve lafang-ed it!

sayang lang coz we weren’t able to plan an out of town gimik. kasi naman, everyone’s busy with their "careers" and kina-careers.. Tsktsk. Tigilan na yan at panira lang yan sa barkada.. =p we went for the next best thing nalang, high school slumber party with style! Nabulabog ang Linden suites ("Hi, can i request for an extra bed? AY! may bayad ba?! extra pillows and blankets nalang pala.. tsaka bucket of ice.. ulit!") ahahaha.. super kulit nung night na yun. kinda like high school nights all over again! syempre girl talk to the max.. Tsktsk. naughty naughty naughty girls *wink* hihihi. kayo ha.. of course, a hotel overnight stay won’t be complete without the breakfast buffet. super yummy food, cutesy chef, at may take home pa kami — buffet din! Di pa nagkasawaan, we spent the entire sunday together pa rin.. haaay. definitely one of the best times ito..

it’s gonna be a looooong wait before kami makumpleto ulit. syempre Kang has to go back to earn her second million.  (grabe, sana pala nag nursing nalang ako) but in two years’ time, she’d be back and manlilibre ulit sya.. haha. magpa-out of the country ka naman!

FRIDAY – Went bowling  with my officemates (oh yezz, bonding session to the max!), kahit na supah dupah kulelat ako at this sport (papagawaan na nga ako ni Argee ng special lane, yung may gutter sa gitna =p), sige go pa din.. bring it on! hehehe.. this night has been super saya, even if the joke’s on me.. (tama ba namang final score ko eh 30? Aatakihin na sila sa puso kakaturo sakin kung pano mag bowling) After three hours of knocking down pins (or at least trying to) we ate a big dinner at Yoshinoya.. Haha, naging useless yung bowling workout kasi lumafang kami ng todo.. Heehee =D

Pero honestly, i’ve been enjoying myself already (finally?) at work.. Parang somehow, i’ve already "bonded" with people.. no more overly pabibo kiddo here.. more like the old me, the jnj me.. kinda daldal, kinda gulo and kinda joker (impernes, bumebenta ang jokes ko dun!). Nice feeling. =)

Have u tried these crazy Close-up toothpaste flavors? i heard about it just this afternoon kasi pinaguusapan sa CR.. of course, being the try-it-all that i am, i bought all three flavors.. i even thought of brushing my teeth three times para lang matikman lahat but i realized exag na yun davah? so i tried the sanest  of all flavors - Choco Loco. Yummy yummy yummy! Fave combo ko pa naman ang choco and mint, so it’s just toothbrushing heaven for me.. hehe..tomorrow, am gonna try Tangerine Burst and Luscious Lychee.. Nakakagana tuloy mag toothbrush.. =p

CSI Season Ender "Grave Danger Vol. 1 & 2" Ay, grabeng episode ito. galeng ni pareng Quentin! Kinda too gory and bloody nga lang but all in all, heartstopping suspense/drama.. Can’t wait for season 6!

tapos na ang hibernation ko.. people were actually texting me to ask if i was ok kasi antagal na ng last log-in ko sa friendster.. Ish July 16, Saturday.. my alarm went off at 6:00am.. mad dash to the bathroom to shower and make mumug (and toothbrush).. olympic speed in getting dressed.. chugged a glass of Nesvita for breakfast.. and made a marathonic commute to Powerbooks Megamall.. All the while hoping to be the first person to get her hands on the new Harry Potter book.. BUT NO! a hundred people also had the same thing in mind.. potek! ang haba na ng pila when i got there at around 6:45 am.. buti nalang cute yung nasa harapan ko ("Uhmm, excuse me, is this the line for Harry Potter?").. Powebooks opened at exactly 7:01 am and we were welcomed by people dressed in wizard costumes.. ang tyut!! Then, the infamous opening theme of the HP movie was playing at Tower Records and the film showing started too! And then, right in the middle of it all are two enormous piles of HP 6 books! My gosh, the feeling of finally getting your hands on that book was so… magical! Para ngang nagningilid ang tears of joy ko! ahihi.. after people paid for their books, everyone was treated to a steaming cup of free coffee.. never had Nescafe tasted this good! ahehe.. after that, i went home because kating-kati na ko to start reading.. i opened my copy and before i realized it, it was already 6pm.. (time to put down HP and get ready for dinner out with berks) got home at around 3am.. OA naman kung magbabasa pa din ako eh i cant even walk straight *wink*.. so i resumed my addictive reading the next day and finished the book at 9pm on Sunday..

GRABE! This is probably the richest, most emotional and best-written in all 6 books!

– it’s full of answers to a lot of things
– a lot of emotions coming from the characters
– Harry, Ron and Hermione’s all grown up.. and are falling in luuuv.. hihihi..
– dark times for Muggles..
– bad Draco.. bad Draco.. but i pity him despite everything
– new magic tricks.. new characters.. new thingies..
– made me miss Sirius..
– still a lot of questions..
– the unexpected half-blood prince.
– sad sad sad ending… :’(

Basta. you HAVE to read this.. JK Rowling is like, really talented! Super saludo ako sa imagination nya.. She could make you want to believe that Harry’s magical world exists.. Like, you actually want to live in that world.. That’s how great she writes. It’s sad kasi i think yung next, Book 7 is the last in the HP series..  Sad feeling, kinda like what i felt when i watched Return of the King, knowing na wala nang kasunod..

But who knows.. anything’s possible with magic.

Cable TV at 3am

for some weird reason i suddenly woke up at 3 am yesterday morning.. dunno why, i wasn’t dreaming or anything.. i just suddenly woke up.. anyhoo, i turned on the tv since i couldn’t get back to sleep and i got curious with the shows on the foreign channels (segue lang, kaasar yang Home cable kasi they had a channel line up shuffle because of the merge with Skycable.. kainis! i’ve like, already memorized the sequence of the channels and something like this happens?! tsktsk… nasisira ang channel surfing rhythm ko neto eh.. there are channels pa na "langaw" lang makikita kasi they’re exclusive to Sky but still included Home’s programming. Bwisit.)

back to my story, in my 3am wide-eyed channel surfing session, i got to watch –

1.> Arirang - hahaha.. funny koreans.. kahit subtitled, patawa pa din yung punchlines nila..

2.> Saudia channel - San ka pa makakita ng lampas 5 minutes opening credits ng telenovela? i was waiting for the opening scene, kaya lang walang katapusan yung opening credits kaya tinamad nako..

3.> Bumbay music video - hahaha.. ’nuff said (lest i be accused of racism.)

4.> Disney Mandarin - fluent pala si Donald duck mag-chinese! ang galing!

5.> Bumbay Telenovela  (i just can’t get enough of ‘em!) - this time, walang subtitles.. and if there’s Taglish in our telenovelas, there’s Hinglish in theirs.. hehe..

I’m officially missing you

it’s been a month since my favorite family members migrated to Canada.. it’s hard pa din to accept, and i admit, i still cry myself to sleep sometimes, especially when i think of Cheyenne.. grabe talaga naging effect sa amin nung batang yun.. sobrang every little thing in our house reminds us of her.. i miss my Tita so much din kasi she’s like, the older sister i’ve never had.. for a month now, i’ve been busying myself with work (in fairness, gabundok talaga ang paperwork ko) just so i wouldn’t spend time at home and feel sad everytime i think of them.. at least at work, hindi ko sila madalas maisip.. but i’m happy na rin kasi they’re starting their new lives there.. my Tito got an Engineering stint at Kraft (ahem.. pa-pass naman ng resume) and they’ve moved out of the small room they rented for a while and was able to get a bigger apartment already.. Cheyenne finally weaned from Formula milk (which is expensive) and now likes Fresh milk.. the downside is that she’s chugging down almost 2 liters a day! ahahaha… i can just imagine her saying "Mama, M I L K !" in her you-better-give-me-what-i-want voice..

damn.. i’m missing them again… =(

July 10 is a Holiday!

YIPEE!!! I am soooo looking forward to July 10! Guess why, guess why, guess why? After two long years (almost), my bestyfriendship Kang is finally coming back from L.A.! She’ll be staying here for  a month kaya we’re trying to plan something big for our berkada.. im sooooo excited na! hehe… matinding reunion itow! =D

we tried to plan it over a yummy Italian dinner last Friday night, pero typical us, kwentuhan ever kaya hindi rin na-finalize.. hahaha…

It was not as exciting as the Da Vinci Code.. i mean, i actually slept through the first few chapters coz sobrang technical yung narration (quarks and neutron and whatevs…) but at least, as soon as natapos yung part na yun, Da Vinci Code-ish na ulit yung flow ng story.. in the end, i liked it na rin.. and yup, the angels won..

There’s this girl in the office who was supposedly my friend, but has been totally ignoring me since Monday last week.. her reason (which i learned of courtesy of an "insider")? Post-partum depression daw. Wow, ish like the lamest excuse ever created.. Haller naman. October last year pa sya nanganak, and besides she’s such a chirpy girl in front of others, but when it somes to Joy (my other friend) and me, she’s a totally grumpy, grouchy and cold bitch. Hay nako, whatever. Bahala ka kung ayaw mo mamansin. =p Sana pumangit ka lalo.. at tubuan ka ng kulugo sa dila.. Hmph!
